SQUAMISH We feel pretty damn lucky to be the original bike shop in the Mountain Biking Capital of Canada. That's right, it's true. But Squamish, BC is really the place to be for all types of riding and everything that goes with it.
For starters, drop by Corsa Cycles and pick up a Squamish trail map (just like they did in the video posted above) or check out the list of mountain biking trails on the Tourism Squamish site. The rides really are endless. And be sure to check out our staff page for a few of our favourite trails or better yet, drop by and ask us about them!
All those trails tend to attract some attention from the outside world too, especially when there's a race involved. Corsa Cycles gets a little school-girl giddy about supporting the following events:

The BC Bike Race is an epic, seven-day mountain bike race that covers Vancouver Island, Powell River and the Sunshine Coast, and then finally Squamish and Whistler. For the past few years, Corsa Cycles has been designing the Day 6 Course right here in Squamish, BC. And wouldn't you know it, 95% of 2010 BCBR riders said they "Loved it!" or "Enjoyed it!" when asked about Day 6, making Squamish the most popular stage of the race! 2012 registration is open but it's nearly sold out already! Next race: June 30 - July 7, 2012 |

But Squamish isn't just known for their sick trails anymore!
GranFondos (mass-participation cycling events) have gained popularity in Europe and around the world, but the 2010 RBC GranFondo Whistler was the first of its kind in Canada. Loosely translated, GranFondo means "big ride" in Italian, and that's just what it is. The RBC GranFondo Whistler takes road cyclists on a 122km journey staring from downtown Vancouver, through Squamish and the "Corsa Sosta" (which translates to "Corsa Stop" in Italian) midpoint rest stop, and finally finishing in Whistler. With about 7,000 riders this year, we're very excited to be involved in the 2012 RBC GranFondo Whistler. Registration for the 2012 event is already open, so don't delay! Next race: Sept 8, 2012
If you're interested in participating or volunteering at one of these events or you just want to know more about the biking trails, routes, and organized rides in Squamish, contact us or stop by Corsa Cycles and we'll point you in the right direction. And stay informed by following us on Facebook or Twitter!
